Floyd has been involved in the horse industry most of his life. He was introduced to horses at an early age. As a child Floyd learned to ride on Tennessee walking horses, and began showing quarter horses at the age of ten.

Floyd has worked and shown horses across the country for over thirty years. He is proud to have shown many world champions in several breeds, both nationally and internationally. Floyd has been a carded judge for the APHA since 1983.

Floyd and his wife Cathy moved their family to Las Vegas ten years ago, and began work as the manager and trainer for Ford Farms. Since that time, their daughter Brooke has moved to California where she is working as a large animal vet. Their son Justin continues to live in Nevada, working as an attorney. Floyd and Cathy are proud to call Ford Farms "home".
